2. Overview

This privacy policy explains how Iknaio Cryptoasset Analytics GmbH (“Iknaio”, “we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit our website.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. This website is designed to collect as little personal data as possible.

3. Data We Collect

3.1 Website Visits

This website is a static site hosted on GitHub Pages. When you visit our website, standard server log data may be collected by our hosting provider, including:

  • IP address (anonymized)
  • Date and time of access
  • Pages visited
  • Browser type and operating system
  • Referring URL

This data is processed by our hosting provider (GitHub, Inc.) on the basis of their legitimate interest in providing the hosting service. For details, see GitHub’s Privacy Statement .

3.2 Email Contact

If you contact us by email, we process your email address and the content of your message to respond to your inquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures) or Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to inquiries).

3.2a Data Retention

Server logs collected by GitHub Pages are managed by GitHub according to their data retention policies. Email correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to respond to your inquiry and maintain the business relationship, typically no longer than 3 years after last contact.

3.3 Cookies and Analytics

We use a small set of analytics services to understand how visitors use the site. They are loaded only after you give explicit consent via the cookie banner. If you reject — or have not yet chosen — no analytics scripts are loaded and no analytics data is collected.

When you accept, the following are loaded:

  • Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Estonia) — privacy-focused analytics. Loads plausible.io/js/script.js. Does not set cookies in its default configuration; data is processed within the EU. See Plausible’s privacy policy .
  • Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC, USA) — measures aggregate traffic. Loads googletagmanager.com/gtag/js and sets the _ga and _ga_TPJK719TS4 cookies (valid for up to 13 months). IP addresses are anonymized by default in GA4. Data is transferred to the United States; Google relies on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework as a transfer mechanism. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses data when you use partner sites .

The legal basis for these analytics is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking “Cookie Settings” in the site footer and choosing “Reject”; subsequent page loads will not load analytics. Cookies already set by previously accepted services can be cleared from your browser settings.

A locally stored preference for the dark/light mode toggle is also saved in your browser via localStorage. This is not a tracking cookie and does not transmit data.

4. Advertising and Remarketing

We do not run advertising, remarketing, or social media tracking on this website. We do not use Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, or LinkedIn Insight Tag. The Google Analytics integration described in Section 3.3 is loaded directly via gtag.js for measurement only.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties, except as described in Section 3.1 (hosting provider).

6. Your Rights under GDPR

As a data subject, you have the following rights:

  • Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR) — You may request information about the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR) — You may request correction of inaccurate data.

  • Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR) — You may object to processing based on legitimate interests.

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at contact@iknaio.com .
